FIRE Group & Grass Roots Football
FIRE Group Proudly Supports Grassroots Football
Investing in Young Players, Supporting Local Football and Building a Pathway into the Senior Game
At FIRE Group, we believe that supporting our local communities means more than simply doing business in them.
That's why we're proud to support grassroots football and the important role it plays in giving young people the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence, make friends and, ultimately, progress into senior football.
FIRE Group is currently proud to sponsor the Bishop Waltham Dynamos Under-18s training kit, as well as supporting the club's new Men's Development Squad.
For us, this is about more than putting a company name on a shirt.
It's about investing in the next generation of players and helping create a genuine pathway from youth football into the adult game.
Supporting Bishop Waltham Dynamos
Our partnership with Bishop Waltham Dynamos reflects FIRE Group's commitment to supporting local football and the people who make grassroots sport possible.
The Under-18s are at a particularly important stage of their football development. Players are beginning to move towards the transition from youth football into senior football, and having the right environment, coaching and opportunities around them can make a huge difference.
That's why we're especially pleased to support the club's Men's Development Squad.
The new development side is designed to help provide a bridge between youth football and senior football, giving young players the opportunity to continue playing, developing and experiencing the demands of the adult game.
Creating a Pathway into Senior Football
The transition from Under-18 football to senior football can be a significant step.
Players are moving into a different environment, playing against stronger and more experienced opposition, while adapting to the physical, tactical and mental demands of adult football.
The aim of the development pathway is to make that transition more accessible.
By creating opportunities for young players to continue playing beyond youth football, Bishop Waltham Dynamos can help players develop at their own pace while giving them valuable experience of senior football.
This approach aligns with the principles behind the FA's player pathway, where player development, appropriate competition and providing opportunities for individuals to progress are central to the development journey.
For FIRE Group, supporting this pathway is something we're extremely proud to be involved with.
A Personal Connection to the Game
Our support for grassroots football also has a very personal connection within FIRE Group.
Rodney Burt, FIRE Group Director, is the manager of the Bishop Waltham Dynamos Under-18s team.
Rodney's involvement goes beyond his role at FIRE Group.
As well as coaching and developing the Under-18 players, he is also a semi-professional referee, giving him a unique perspective on the game.
His experience as both a coach and referee provides valuable insight into the importance of discipline, respect, decision-making and understanding the laws and spirit of football.
These are qualities that extend well beyond the football pitch.
More Than Just Football
Grassroots football has an enormous role to play in the development of young people.
For many players, football is about much more than winning matches.
It's about:
- Building confidence
- Learning teamwork
- Developing discipline
- Taking responsibility
- Respecting teammates, opponents and officials
- Learning how to deal with success and disappointment
- Developing leadership skills
- Staying active and healthy
- Creating friendships and a sense of belonging
These experiences can help shape young people long after their playing days are over.
At FIRE Group, we believe that businesses have an important role to play in supporting the communities around them, and grassroots sport is a fantastic way of making a positive contribution.
Building for the Future
The launch and development of the Bishop Waltham Dynamos Men's Development Squad is an exciting opportunity for young players who want to continue their football journey.
Not every player will go on to play at the highest level — and that's not necessarily the point.
The goal is to give players the opportunity to keep playing, keep developing and enjoy the game while being introduced to senior football in a supportive environment.
For some, it could be the beginning of a long senior football career.
For others, it may simply provide the opportunity to continue doing something they love.
Either way, the pathway matters.
FIRE Group and the Community
Supporting Bishop Waltham Dynamos is part of FIRE Group's wider commitment to being involved in the communities where our people live and work. We are proud to see the FIRE Group name on the Under-18s training kit and equally proud to support the club's new Men's Development Squad.
We hope our support can contribute towards giving the next generation of players the facilities, opportunities and encouragement they need to continue their football journey. And with Rodney Burt leading the Under-18s, we're particularly proud that our own team at FIRE Group is directly involved in helping develop the next generation.
Supporting the Future of Grassroots Football
From the Under-18s training pitch to the Men's Development Squad, the journey into senior football starts with opportunity.
FIRE Group is proud to play its part.
We look forward to following the progress of the Bishop Waltham Dynamos teams throughout the season and, most importantly, seeing young players continue to develop, enjoy their football and take the next steps in their journey.
FIRE Group — supporting our communities, investing in people and backing the next generation.
