Head Chef

Full Time | 37.5 Hours Per Week
Salary Package £45K

We’re partnering with a highly respected specialist care centre, near Hindhead, Surrey, to recruit an experienced and forward-thinking Head Chef .

This isn’t a typical healthcare catering role. It’s an opportunity to lead and grow a service that directly contributes to the wellbeing and quality of life of residents — all within a growing organisation investing in its future.

With exciting development plans underway, our client is seeking a Head Chef who is ready to modernise, elevate, shape and drive the catering provision as the service expands.

The Opportunity
As the Head chef you’ll take full ownership of the kitchen function — from standards and compliance to team development and innovation.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing and motivating a committed kitchen team
  • Enhancing food quality, creativity and presentation
  • Maintaining the highest standards of food safety and compliance
  • Implementing robust systems to support growth and consistency
  • Driving continuous improvement across catering services
  • Ensuring nutritional excellence supports patient rehabilitation
This is a pivotal appointment for someone who thrives on leadership, structure, producing high restaurant-quality food and delivering meaningful impact.

The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a culinary professional who combines strong technical ability with confident leadership.
You will bring:
  • At least 5 years’ experience within a professional kitchen environment
  • A strong, restaurant-quality culinary background
  • NVQ Level 3 in Catering (or equivalent qualification)
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene certification
  • Proven supervisory or management experience
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
Experience working with IDDSI frameworks and allergen management would be beneficial, though not essential.

Most importantly, you’ll be a proactive leader who can nurture talent, introduce positive change and maintain consistently high standards.

Why Consider This Role?
Unlike many senior chef positions, this opportunity offers genuine work-life balance:
  • No split shifts
  • No late-night service
  • Alternate weekends only
  • Predictable, structured hours
As well as this it offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on peoples lives and genuinely make a difference.

What’s on Offer
  • Salary package of up to £45,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Blue Light Card discounts
  • Company pension scheme
  • Free on-site parking
  • Uniform provided
  • Access to on-site gym facilities
  • + More
If you’re looking to step into a Head Chef role where your leadership will genuinely make a difference — and where your career can grow alongside the organisation — we’d love to hear from you.
